Proprioceptors are sensory receptors that pick up impulses generated by the pull of gravity, movement, stretch, pull of muscles., muscle tension, and position in space. They are found in tendons, muscles, joints, and in the inner ear. Some examples are muscle spindles, golgi tendon organs, kinesthetic receptors and Pacinian corpuscles.
