Answer

Sweat Glands: These glands are located on hairless regions of the body--often foot pads in mammals. In horses and primates, these glands are located all over the body. The function of these glands is to secrete watery fluid on the skin. This fluid cools the body and helps to prevent overheating. Scent Glands: These glands have different locations on the body, depending on the animal. They are most often located in orbital, behind the eyes, on the cheek, on the base of the tail, back of the head, and/or near the anus. These glands are most useful during mating season. During mating season, scent glands secrete particular smells that are designed to attract animals of the opposite sex with the intention of reproduction. These glands also excrete scents that can be used to mark terrorizes, community with other animals of the same species, and/or for defensive measures. Sebaceous Glands: These glands are located all over the body, but are typically found with hair follicles. Sebaceous glands secrete a fine oil that helps to keep skin and hair healthy and glossy. Mammary Glands: These glands are located in the thoracic and/or abdominal region of female animals. Mammary glands are milk secreting glands. They secrete milk that is used to feed newly born offspring.
