Baroceptors are receptors that are sensitive to changes in pressure that affects the degree of stretch in the blood vessels. Some baroceptors respond to increases in blood pressure ; these are found mainly in the aortic arch and carotid sinus. They regulate blood pressure by the baroreflex. Low pressure baroreceptors are found in the right atrium, in major veins, and in kidneys. They function to regulate blood volume.
