Answer

Skeletal muscle cells ( myocytes/myofibers) are elongated cells ( 100-500 um dia) and 3 cm to 30 cm in length. The muscle fibers are wrapped in layers of connective tissue which are named ( inside -out) endomysium. perimysium and epimysium. Endomysium surrounds individual myofibers and perimysium wraps muscle fibers into bundles or fascicles. The layer of connective tissue that surrounds an entire muscle is called the epimysium.

Work Step by Step

The epimysium of a muscle joins the with connective tissue fibers of a tendon ; these fibers then connect with the collagen fibers of the periosteum and bone matrix. This makes for a very firm muscle- to- bone connection. Consequently, when the muscle contracts the attached bone moves.
