Chapter 8 - Review - Case Study - Sampling Distribution of the Median - Page 424: 19

Answer

The Central Limit Theorem can be used to explain the results in Problem 18.

Work Step by Step

The Central Limit Theorem suggests that for a large sample size n,all distribution tends to follow a normal distribution. It can be seen from Problem 18 that as the sample size increases from 20 to 40, the histogram for both the sample mean and median are approximately normal distribution. For sample size 80, it becomes slightly right-skewed. So, CLT can be used for sample size 80.
