Like the previous exercise, this graph is misleading due to the fact the population of each ethnicity in the US in 2009 is not represented. This leads to a similar problem as the problem of China and India in the previous exercise. In this graph, the number of whites who are impoverished far exceeds that of any other ethnicity. However, as one might easily notice, the whites population in the US even further exceeds that of any other ethnicity. Therefore, the number of impoverished whites might be great in number; however, if that number being taken in proportion to the total number of whites population, it might not be such great anymore. So it would be better to include the total number of each ethnicity population in the US in 2009 into consideration. A way to do this is to replace the frequency axis here with the relative frequency axis, where we count the proportion of people living in poverty of each ethnicity in the whole population of such ethnicity.
