Chapter 5 - Normal Probability Distributions - Section 5.1 Introduction to Normal Distributions and the Standard Normal Distribution - Exercises - Page 242: 5

Answer

Similarities- Curve A and B have the same mean however their standard deviations are not equal. The two curves will have the same LOS (line of symmetry). Differences- Curve B has less spread while Curve A has more. Therefore the standard deviation of A has a greater magnitude than that of Curve B.

Work Step by Step

Draw the two normal curves and then analyze what they have in common versus what is different.
