Chapter 11 - Other Chi-Square Tests - 11-1 Test for Goodness of Fit - Exercises 11-1 - Page 619: 1

Answer

The chi-square variance test is used to find a confidence interval for a variance and also to test a hypothesis about a single variance . On the other hand, a goodness of fit test is used to see whether a frequency distribution fits a specific pattern. That is to say, it can be used to test the independence of two variables as well as the homogeneity of proportions.
