Function: $ y=-\sqrt {2x+1}=-\sqrt {2(x+\frac{1}{2})}$ - start by plotting the function $ y=\sqrt x $ - then compress by a factor of 2 and plot $ y=\sqrt {2x}$ - then shift to left by $1/2$ and plot $ y=\sqrt {2(x+\frac{1}{2})}$ - finally flip around x-axis to reach $ y=-\sqrt {2(x+\frac{1}{2})}$
