Chapter 2 - Nonlinear Functions - 2.2 Quadratic Functions; Translation and Reflection - 2.2 Exercises: 27

Answer

C

Work Step by Step

Use the table on page 62 (Translations and Reflections) ---------- If $f(x)=\sqrt{x}$, with whose graph we are familiar, then $y=\sqrt{-x+2}-4=\sqrt{-(x-2)}-4=f[-(x-2)]-4,$ whose graph is obtained by 1. reflecting the graph of f(x) about the y axis, then, 2. translating right by 2 units, and then 3. translating down by 4 units. (graph C)
