$\frac{x^{2}-9x}{x^{2}-6x-27}$ 1. Factor the numerator: $= \frac{x(x-9)}{x^{2}-6x-27}$ 2. Factor the denominator: $= \frac{x(x-9)}{(x-9)(x+3)}$ 3. Cancel out $x-9$ as both the numerator and denominator contains that component: $= \frac{x}{(x+3)}$
