Chapter 5 - Linear Functions - 5-3 Slope-Intercept Form - Practice and Problem-Solving Exercises - Page 311: 69

Answer

Equation: y=3x+8

Work Step by Step

Our slope is 3 since that is the coefficient of the x-term and our y-intercept is (0,8) since that is the constant that is being added to the x-term. Now lets use this information to graph. First start at (0,8) since that is the y-intercept. Then go up 3 units and right 1 unit since the slope can also be written as (3/1). Continue doing this until you have enough points to graph the equation.
