Chapter 4 - An Introduction to Functions - 4-4 Graphing a Function Rule - Practice and Problem-Solving Exercises - Page 258: 32

Answer

Graph for y=|x-3|-1

Work Step by Step

The graph of y=|x| is graphed below and to graph the function y=|x-3|-1 we need to move the graph right three units and down one unit. To graph we subtract one from each y-value and add three to each x-value. So for example, the point (0,0) of function y=|x| becomes (3,-1) for the function y=|x-3|-1.
