Chapter 6 - Systems of Equations and Inequalities - 6-4 Applications of Linear Systems - Practice and Problem-Solving Exercises - Page 391: 21

Answer

The best way to solve this system would be by using substitution.

Work Step by Step

Our two equation are: 1. 4s-3t=8 2. t=-2s-1 Substitution is the most efficient way to solve this problem because we can easily substitute the second equation into the first equation for the variable t. Once we have done that, we can solve for the variable (s) and once we have this value, we can again substitute the value of s into the second equation in order to find the value of t. Therefore substitution is the most efficient way to solve this system.
