Hana Omiya

She is a thin and small woman. Her face is pale and her hair is black. She is traveling to America by sea from Japan.

Taro Takeda

He is a Japanese man who went to California for business; he also operates a small shop. Being a lonely and single man, he is in need of a wife. Hana is traveling to America to see him.

Qji San

Qji San is Hana's uncle. He is the one to first mention Taro Takeda, his friend's son. He wants to help his friend's son find a husband.
