    Discuss how Swami and Mani become friends again with Somu, Sankar, and Pea. How and why is Rajam's role significant in the rekindling of the friendship?

    Rajam brings both groups of boys to his house in order to engineer the reconciliation. He starts by lecturing the group on friendship. He quotes the Vedas about the punishment awaiting anyone who fosters enmity. He then requests that each boy step forward and state they would no longer be enemies.
