How does Binetou seem to change following her marriage to Modou?

Before the marriage, Ramatoualye describes Binetou as similar to her daughter Daba: ambitious and interested in getting a good education. After the marriage, Binetou's voice seems to be lost. She is now well-dressed and respected in public and is described as "bewitching" by others.
