Agnes

Agnes is the lead protagonist in the novel, and she is a key partner in the Point. Agnes is a renowned children's author who has a passion for enlightening children. However, in recent days, Agnes has decided to write her first adult novel, Franklin Square. However, Agnes writes this novel with many secrets she does not want even her close friend Polly to Know.

Later, Agnes's health worsens, and she decides to talk to Polly about the future of the Point. Agnes suggests that the Point be donated to a Land Trust, which will ensure the ecosystem's preservation. In addition, Agnes tells Polly all her life secrets, including the motivation behind the novel Franklin Square.

Polly

Polly is the mother of James and a close friend of Agnes. Polly is also a partner in the Point with Agnes and Archie. When Agnes shares her suggestions concerning the Point's future with Polly, she gladly supports the idea.

Archie

Archie is a partner in the Point, but he disappoints his fellow shareholders when he goes against their decision to donate it to the Land Trust. Instead, Archie follows the advice of his gluttonous wife, who argues that the Point must be sold so that they can share profits.

James

James is the eldest son of Polly and the guaranteed heir of his mother’s shares in the Point. When James learns that his mother and Agnes are about to donate the Point, he influences Archie to stand against that decision.

Archie’s wife

Archie's wife is described as a greedy woman who is self-centered. Upon hearing that her husband has agreed to donate the Point, she influences him to stand against the decision. Instead, Archie's wife tells him to disagree with the donation decision and sell it so they can share the profits.
