Cecil is allergic to watermelons, and once the big wet melon dropped on his head, he sneezed. Cicil's sneezing was so hard to the extent that all the leaves that had fallen below him flew away. However, Cecil did not know exactly where the wet Mellon fell from because the little girl did not show up to apologize. People around him wondered what had happened to him, but he continued with his activities.

The main theme in the entire novel is luck. Cecil is one of the luckiest people ever because whenever something bad happens to put him down, he emerges victorious and good things happen to him. For instance, the little girl throws a wet watermelon at Cecil to intimidate him, but he comes out of a barbershop a few minutes late with a fresh and fine haircut. No one comprehends why Cecil is lucky; even Cecil himself does not understand.
