On this particular day, he has grown a moustache and wears it on his visit, where his grandmother thinks that he is her late husband. The grandmother begins to open up about her guilt and regrets, and Mike learns a lot about her through this interaction.

Mine on Thursdays is about a divorced father called Howie, who has a daughter called Holly. The story chronicles the difficulty of their relationship after Howie leaves the family when Holly is only young. Later, Howie has the chance to visit her but he still ends up disappointing her due to his immaturity. He later concludes that he needs to become more mature and show how much he loves his daughter before it is too late.
Another of Mike's Girls
This short story is again about a boy called Mike, who has had many girlfriends and flings. His parents can't seem to understand why he can't hold onto a relationship long-term. He eventually does and brings his new girlfriend home to meet his parents. His girlfriend gets along with the family well and has an impact on Mike's father, who concludes that his preconceptions about Mike and his girlfriends were wrong.
