Literary Scavenger Hunt!

Objective:

To find literary references in the text in order to better understand the content of the poems

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.9, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.11-12.5

Structure:

Though short, both "Up-Hill" and "A Birthday" are full of imagery and phrases that may be referencing other works of literature. Divide students into groups of 4-6 and have them go on a Literary Scavenger Hunt! Using internet and traditional resources (though internet will probably be much more expedient and thorough) have students find at least one literary reference on the list below.
