beanpole

In the movie, it is a slang term used to refer a person who is skinny and frail. The meaning is derived from the beanpole stick that is used to hold up growing plants.

Brueghel

Brueghel is a famous Flemish painter and printmaker known for his peasant paintings. He is one of the most significant of the Renaissance period.

castanets

A percussion instrument that consists of two hollowed-out pear-shaped pieces of wood connected at one end by a string. It is often used in Spanish, Kalo, Moorish, Swiss, and Portuguese music. To play the castanets, one pair must be held in each hand.

Dark Master

A fictional character and the main antagonist of the 2007 film "Bridge to Terabithia." The Dark master is an evil entity created by Jess and Leslie that plots to destroy the kingdom of Terabithia.

extraordinaire

Describes someone who is exceptionally impressive in a certain area. For example, a giant troll hunter extraordinaire is a person who is excellent at hunting giant trolls.

squogres

Fictional creatures that live in Terabithia and are similar to squirrels but are slightly larger. Their name comes from their appearance, which is a combination of a squirrel and an ogre. They are nasty creatures that serve the Dark master.

Terabithia

A fictional kingdom created by Leslie and Jess in the 2007 film "Bridge to Terabithia." In the kingdom, different kinds of fictional creatures can be found like trolls, squogres, and many more. The only way to get there is by crossing the river near Jess and Leslie's neighborhood.

Terabithians

These are what the citizens and inhabitants of Terabithia are called. All Terabithians live under the rule of their king, Jess, and their princess, May Belle.

truce

An agreement by both parties to stop fighting. In this way, no one wins and no one loses.

twinkle toes

In the movie, it is a slang term used to describe someone fast-footed or light-footed such as Jesse Aarons who happens to be good at running.

woodblock

A woodblock is a percussion instrument made from a single block of wood. This cylindrical or rectangular block of wood has one or two longitudinal cavities that produces a sound when struck with a stick.
