    Discuss the author’s use of nonchronological storytelling techniques in today’s reading. How does he manipulate time to build tension and create suspense?

    Students might point to the very beginning of today’s reading, the beginning of Chapter 10, with the line, “The awaited day was here; Oloisudori was about to claim his prize”, and note that Oloisudori in fact does not show that day but at the last minute changes his mind to spend more time readying the new palatial house he is building for Resian (but we don’t find this out until a great deal of plot material has transpired).
