Understanding Yoga: Independent Research

Long-term Project
Objective:
Research the philosophical and spiritual context of the Gita.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.11-12.9
Structure:
In order to better understand the context of the text, which may be new for some students, have them embark on an independent study of yogic philosophy and practice.
Ask students to write a 2-4 page essay, or create a five-minute presentation, on a topic in yoga that they find interesting. Provide topics and allow students to suggest other topics if they choose. Some ideas include:
