All the Light We Cannot See contains references to war, death, and rape, which may be worth warning students about. In addition, the novel assumes a level of pre-knowledge about World War II and its general series of events and references, some of which may be unfamiliar to students, so consider providing, or having students build, a study guide/"cheat sheet" to help students contextualize what these references mean in historical, cultural, and literary terms.
