Why does Deckard think Phil Resch is an android?
Deckard thinks Resch is an android for several reasons. First of all, Garland implies it while Phil is out of the room, and this sews the seeds of doubt for Deckard. Phil's increasingly bitter and violent attitude seems to provide increasing evidence, particularly when he guns down Garland and coldheartedly murders Luba Luft. Deckard also seems to have a tendency to distrust new people - especially in the strange, unknown police department where Resch and Garland work.
