One might consider the 1964 film adaptation of Zorba the Greek, since that has managed to achieve quite a level of pop cultural influence. In particular, both the soundtrack and the final scene of the film, in which Zorba teaches the bookish protagonist how to dance like a Greek, have become fairly popular metonyms for Greek identity.
