I’m sick of being good.
After fainting during one of her jobs, which correlated with her situation of heartbreak with Ivan, Pepa decides to make a change in her life. After declaring that she is sick of being good, she proceeds to trash her apartment and set her bed on fire and burn the gifts she received from Ivan. It is the beginning of the nervous breakdown.
I can only forget him by killing him.
Ivan’s ex-wife reveals to Pepa that she faked being recovered from her mental illness just so that she can get a hold of Ivan and kill him. Her face is rid of all emotions, and she is completely calm during her declaration that she will kill him while waving around two guns prepared for the deed. Behind the mask of calmness is a woman who was completely destroyed by desperation.
All I wanted was to talk to you.
After a long day of heartbreak and waiting desperately for Ivan’s call which culminates in Pepa rescuing him, she finally has a moment of epiphany. She realized that she doesn’t want him and that he doesn’t deserve her. Her heartbreaking confession to him that she waited for his call, that she only wanted to talk to him, but that it’s too late now is also a moment of her finally accepting the truth.
