Where the Wild Things Are

Where the Wild Things Are Summary

Max is a young boy who makes mischief and is sent to bed without supper by his mother. That night, his room grows into a forest. It grows so big that Max gets into a boat on the ocean and travels for a year to "where the wild things are." The wild things are truly wild, but Max tames them and they make him their king. They all play together happily, but when the wild things go to bed, Max becomes lonely. He smells a delicious dinner from far away and gets in his boat as the wild things protest. He travels all the way home to his room, where he finds a hot plate of food waiting for him.
