    Characteristics of Billy

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will analyze Billy and discuss his characteristics in a group.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.3

    Structure:

    By this point in the book, readers know Billy Colman pretty well. This activity will help them track how the author has let readers get to know Billy. Students will be separated into small groups to track Billy's personality. They will do this on a collaborative document; scaffolding like that on page 13 here can be provided if the teacher desires.
