Alien
A rather problematic protagonist, this unnamed character is an extra-terrestrial creature from another planet who lures men and probably women too, into a place where they disappear never to be seen again. At the beginning of the film, you are unaware that she is an alien, but as it progresses you begin to realize how inhumane she is. Despite her actions and origin, she is a curious creature. Sometimes, she marvels at human life and sometimes she despises it. She has the spirit to explore things she doesn’t know, even if they eventually lead to her/its death.
Motorcyclist
The motorcyclist is her clean up guy who gets rid of dead bodies or anything that incriminates them. He might also be an alien but that remains unknown throughout the film. Their relationship is not human like since they barely say a word to each other in the entire film. After she goes missing, the motorcyclist is somewhat worried and it seems like he’s looking for her. It is not confirmed whether she knows of her demise or not but it seems though that he is aware and distraught about it. He is a dedicated soldier in whatever mission they have to complete. Around her, he acts like he’s in charge and is always a step ahead.
The Swimmer
One of the woman’s earlier victims, Swimmer is a man who is camping at the beach. He’s originally from Scotland, and he says he’s in Glasgow to get away from his previous life. He seems like a nice person. He doesn’t hesitate to help the drowning couple even if it means his demise.
The Disfigured Man
The disfigured man is the alien’s last victim. He is a man who is lonely and reclusive. He goes out at night to avoid the attention that his face brings. The woman understands him and tells him not to feel bad. He is the first victim that she is unable to kill. This character makes an impact on the alien that she goes against her nature and saves him even though he eventually dies in the hands of the motorcyclist.
The Quiet Man
This character helps Laura after she abandons his van and jacket. He offers her food and a place to live. They romantically connect when he carries her and helps her down a staircase. She becomes emotionally attached to him that she is willing to have sex with him. This character shows a whole new side of humanity, she was yet to see. Even though it doesn’t last, it was truly a worthy moment for the alien.
The Logger
This character is the final human interaction she has before her untimely death. At first encounter, this character is a very upstanding individual who seems to care a lot about the well-being of her. This completely changes face when he tries to rape Laura. This character you could say would be the final nail in the coffin on trying to live with humans. She realizes that the only thing humans care about is her outer skin and not who she is. You could say she burns her alive not because she’s hideous or a different species but because of his shame. He wanted to rape her so badly before her skin came off but now all he has is hatred.
