Aza
Aza is the main character in the story. Aza is sixteen years old. She tries her best to be the perfect daughter, the perfect friend and the perfect student. She also wants to be a good detective, but it is really hard with all the thoughts going on in her head. Aza struggles with mental illness which really makes her life difficult.
Daisy
Daisy is Aza's very best friend, who loves to write Star Wars fan fiction and bases many of her stories on Aza and Aza's illness. Daisy is a fearless person.
Davis
Davis is a childhood friend. Davis is Russel Pickett's son. Davis and Aza develops a relationship through the book, but Aza is scared her illness will stand between them. Davis lost his mother several years earlier and his father dies by the end of the book. Davis and his younger brother Noah moves to Colorado, where Noah is supposed to attend boarding school.
