“Books are not made to be believed, but to be subjected to inquiry. When we consider a book, we mustn't ask ourselves what it says but what it means...”
Books are very important part of our life, because they contain the knowledge and information about the past and the history that we need. The author wants to tell us that we shouldn’t believe in an information which is in the book. Instead we should think and inquire into the book and understand what is a goal of the book and catch the meaning. William Baskerville does it in the novel, he does not just read books, and immerses in what is written there and contemplates the views of the author. We must be educated in our time and grow with the help of books, because the book can make you think about something. Books help us to develop and discover something new. Now we have the opportunity to read the book, the author shows us that it was difficult in those days for people, especially for ordinary people who could not read books. Therefore, we should appreciate what we have and use it.
“What is love? There is nothing in the world, neither man nor Devil nor any thing, that I hold as suspect as love, for it penetrates the soul more than any other thing. Nothing exists that so fills and binds the heart as love does. Therefore, unless you have those weapons that subdue it, the soul plunges through love into an immense abyss.”
Love is a marvelous feeling, which makes us happy and elevates our soul to heaven, overwhelming it with the light and tender feelings. Love helps us go through all impediments that appear in our complicated life. We can see the example of such influence in a young lover boy who once knows love and it remains with him forever. We can see the example of two lovers. It is Adso and unknown girl, both of them fall in love with each other and it makes their life more colorful because love cannot be compared with anything else.
“Love is wiser than wisdom.”
Wisdom is only accumulated knowledge and experience that we have gained throughout our life, and we cannot just get love or receive it, we cannot learn about love, it comes to us, regardless of our desires and time when we want to get it. Adso is enamored and that it is more than wisdom, because he loves that the stranger girl and will not harm her, because of it he chooses the path that doesn’t harm to both of them, he leaves her in the Abbey, but she always remains in his heart. In this example we can see that love helps him to resolve the situation, because when we love we take care of another person.

Abo is the abbot of the Benedictine abbey who asks William to investigate the murders of several monks. Abo is more interested in the good name of the abbey than he is in the truth. You will need to give me the chapter reference for the library.
