    Guevara does seem to give an indication that he is aware of his own class privilege; for example, he refers in “La Giaconda’s Smile” in the previous day, he says this of himself and Alberto: “To a certain extent we had been knights of the road; we belonged to that long-standing “wandering aristocracy” and had calling cards with our impeccable and impressive titles.” He does seem to be aware that this gives them certain advantages.
