Introduction to The Island of Dr. Moreau

The Island of Dr. Moreau was written by the famous novelist, H.G. Wells. It was published briefly after his bestselling first novel, The Time Machine. While both writings are in the science-fiction genre, it did not perform as well amongst readers. Many argue that this is because the topic of vivisection was more repulsive to readers than that of time travel, even though both were obviously outside the realm of the possible.
