Every classroom is different, but the themes of political control, coercion, freedom, and women's rights are likely to be of interest to many high school students. The Handmaid's Tale addresses suicide, rape, and coercion. You may want to prepare your students, in case any of them have recent traumas around these issues that might come up. These are all difficult and personal subjects, and should be treated with sensitivity.
