Introduction to The Book of Questions, III

The Book of Questions is a collection of 74 poems entirely formed of questions. Although the questions in the early poems seem entirely playful, childlike, and somewhat surreal, as the book goes on the poems take on a darker tone, more linked to questions of mortality and eternity, and the questions within each poem seem to relate much more closely to each other.

The Book of Questions was the last book that Pablo Neruda wrote before he died in 1973.
