    Does the tone change in this set of poems? If so, how? If not, how does it remain consistent?

    Most students will probably notice two things: a focus on death and a sense of greater urgency. This cluster of poems has a great deal to say about mortality and seems to contain fear and uncertainty about the prospect of death; these poems also explore the nature of time through the symbol of the sea. There is darkness both explicit and implicit in these questions.
