The right-hand rule shows that a clockwise induced current creates a magnetic field that points into the page. The initial magnetic flux is due to a magnetic field into the page, so if this flux decreases, the induced current will be clockwise, which would counteract the change in flux. If the coil becomes smaller, or the magnetic field tilts such that fewer magnetic field lines penetrate the loop, the initial flux will decrease.
