Chapter 30 - Induction and Inductance - Questions - Page 893: 1

Answer

Out of the page.

Work Step by Step

Lenz's law states that a magnetic field will be induced that opposes the flux change. Since area is increasing, flux is increasing. This increase in flux means that the current will oppose the normal current direction found through right hand rule. This means that if the magnetic field is pointing out of the page, a magnetic field pointing into the page would be created that would create a clockwise current.
