Chapter 2 - Motion Along a Straight Line - Questions - Page 32: 9b

Answer

From longest to shortest, the time it takes for the tangerine to pass the windows is: window 1, window 2, window 3.

Work Step by Step

As discovered in the last question, the tangerine is traveling the fastest in the 3rd window, then 2nd window, and slowest in the 3rd window. The faster an object travels (tangerine), the less amount of time it takes to pass through a certain area (a window). Knowing this, we can tell that the tangerine will travel through window 3 the quickest, window 1 the slowest, and window 2 in between.
