The excess pressure inside a bubble is inversely proportional to the radius . The pressure inside the smaller bubble will be much higher than the larger bubble . When the valve is opened , the air inside the smaller bubble which is at higher pressure moves to the larger bubble at lower atmospheric pressure, thereby making the smaller bubble even smaller . Due to this , the surface tension on the smaller bubble increases drastically and the bubble may collapse
