Work Step by Step
Radioactive decay is a spontaneous process in which unstable nuclei emit radioactive particles as well as energy. Fission occurs when high-energy bombardment of nuclei with small particles and breaks into smaller nuclides, radioactive particles, and energy. In a chain reaction, all fission events are different. Small particles releases in the fission and the large nucleus can lead to splitting of the large nuclei in a number of ways to produce several different products.
