Chapter 5 - Electron Configurations and the Periodic Table - Questions for Review and Thought - Review Questions - Page 240: 3

Answer

Examples will vary.

Work Step by Step

Hund's rule states that all sub orbitals will be filled with one electron before any of them has two electrons. This occurs because of electronic repulsion, for electrons prefer to not be in close proximity. One example would be putting one electron in each of the three p sub shells before putting two in the same one.
