Answer

(a) The density of the orange block is greater (b) Cannot be determined (c) The blue block has greater density (d) The blue block has greater density

Work Step by Step

(a) We know that Density$=\frac{mass}{volume}$ As it can be seen in the given picture that the mass of the orange block is greater than the mass of the blue block and its volume is also less than that of blue block, hence the density of the orange block is greater. (b) The mass as well as the volume of the orange block is greater than that of blue block. We cannot determine the relative density from the given picture. (c) As the masses of both of the blocks are equal but the volume of the blue block is less then that of the orange ball, hence the blue block has greater density. (d) As the volumes of both of the blocks are equal but the mass of the blue is greater than that of the orange block, hence blue block has greater density.
