Answer

Pots are pans should be made of materials with low specific heat. Because, as the specific heat increases the amount of heat needed to increase the temperature of material increases. As a result, more energy is spent to heat to pan and the food to desired temperature. These materials are mostly copper, stainless steel which have specific heat of 385 and 456 J/(g.K).

Work Step by Step

1. Pan and Pots are used to heat/cook food. 2. An efficient pan/pot should allow to heat/cook food with minimal energy loss. 3. Amount of energy needed to heat the pan/pot to desired temperature (together with food) is given as: $q=c\times m\times \Delta T$ 4. Therefore materials with low c will need lower q (energy/heat) to cook/heat food and should be chosen.
