Chapter 4 - End-of-Chapter - Problems - Page 234: 4-3

Answer

False

Work Step by Step

The answer is false because DNA is an isolated nucleosome that unwraps from each end at a rate of about 4 times per second. The remaining part is exposed for 10 to 50 milliseconds before the partially unwrapped structure is forced to reclose. Therefore, most of the DNA in an isolated nucleosome is readily available for binding other proteins, when chromatin remodeling begins to complex.
