Squamous epithelium is made up of flattened cells, cuboidal epithelium is made up of a layer of cube shaped cells, columnar epithelium features a layer of cells in the shape of a pillar or column, and pseudostratified epithelium are made up of a single layer of pillar shaped cells that have the appearance of being multilayered.
