Since buffer is defined as a solution which can resist the change in pH i.e., it can resist the change in the hydrogen ion concentration. Buffers encompass an optimal range of pH beyond that they can restrained the changes in the hydrogen ion concentration which is the dissociation constant of the acid represented by K₂ and is also known as pka. With the rise in temperature the bonds that hold the protons H* are broken down which increases the pH of the solution. And the temperature dependence of Tris buffer is very poor. As, Tris pKa is 8.08 at 25°C, which shows that Tris has a pH range in-between 7.07 and 9.07. And the tris pKa decreases to 0.03 units per °C with the rise in temperature. So to prevent any pH changes in the Tris buffer it should be store below 4°C.
