Chapter 7 - From DNA to Protein: How Cells Read the Genome - Questions - Page 258: Question 7-10 C

Answer

Correct.

Work Step by Step

As the ribosome moves along the mRNA strand, it is known as translocation. The ribosome is split into the E, P and A site accordingly. Every time the ribosome trans-locates one codon down the mRNA strand in a 5' to 3' direction, the tRNA in the P site will have their relatively weak hydrogen bonds broken and move to the E site and exit the ribosome.
